Surah Al-Fath (The Victory — Chapter 48 of the Noble Qur'an, 29 verses) was revealed upon the return from the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah in 6 AH. Though the treaty appeared outwardly difficult, Allah named it "Fathan Mubina" (a Clear Conquest) and sent down Sakoon (tranquility) into the hearts of the believers. سورۃ الفتح قرآنِ مجید کی ۴۸ ویں سورت ہے جو ۲۶ ویں پارے میں واقع ہے اور اس میں ۲۹ آیات ہیں۔ یہ سورت صلح حدیبیہ سے واپسی پر نازل ہوئی۔ صحیح بخاری (4172) میں نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: "آج رات مجھ پر ایسی سورت نازل ہوئی ہے جو مجھے پوری دنیا اور ہر اس چیز سے زیادہ محبوب ہے جس پر سورج طلوع ہوتا ہے" پھر آپ ﷺ نے "اِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِيْنًا" تلاوت فرمائی۔
Authentic Hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari on Surah Al-Fath
سورۃ الفتح کی فضیلت پر صحیح بخاری کی احادیث1) 'Umar ibn al-Khattab (RA) narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari (4172): The Prophet ﷺ said, "Tonight a Surah has been revealed to me which is dearer to me than that on which the sun shines," and then he recited: "Inna fatahna laka fathan mubina." 2) 'Abdullah ibn Mughaffal (RA) narrated in Sahih al-Bukhari (4834): "On the day of the Conquest of Makkah, I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ reciting Surah Al-Fath on his she-camel in a vibrant, melodious tone (tarji')."
۱) صحیح بخاری (4172) میں امیر المومنین حضرت عمر فاروق رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے فرمایا: "آج رات مجھ پر ایسی سورت نازل ہوئی ہے جو مجھے ہر اس چیز سے زیادہ پیاری ہے جس پر سورج چمکتا ہے" پھر آپ ﷺ نے سورۃ الفتح کی ابتدائی آیات تلاوت فرمائیں۔ ۲) صحیح بخاری (4834) کے مطابق فتحِ مکہ کے دن نبی کریم ﷺ اپنی اونٹنی پر سوار ہو کر خوش الحانی کے ساتھ سورۃ الفتح کی تلاوت فرما رہے تھے۔
Three Mentions of "As-Sakinah" (Divine Tranquility) in Surah Al-Fath
سورۃ الفتح میں "سکینت" (دل کے اطمینان) کا تین مرتبہ ذکرSurah Al-Fath uniquely mentions Allah sending down As-Sakinah (deep spiritual peace and calmness) three times: in Verse 4 ("Huwal-ladhi anzalas-sakinata fi qulubil-mu'minin"), Verse 18 ("fa-anzalas-sakinata 'alayhim"), and Verse 26 ("fa-anzalallahu sakinatahu 'ala Rasulihi wa 'alal-mu'minin").

سورۃ الفتح (آیت ۱ تا ۵) — کھلی فتح، بخشش اور دلوں پر سکینت کا نزول✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: یہ پانچ آیات کامیابی، مشکلات کے حل، ایمان کی زیادتی اور دل کے سکون کے لیے روزانہ تلاوت کی جاتی ہیں۔
اِنَّا فَتَحْنَا لَكَ فَتْحًا مُّبِيْنًا لِّيَغْفِرَ لَكَ اللّٰهُ مَا تَقَدَّمَ مِنْ ذَنْبِكَ وَمَا تَاَخَّرَ وَيُتِمَّ نِعْمَتَهٗ عَلَيْكَ وَيَهْدِيَكَ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيْمًا وَّيَنْصُرَكَ اللّٰهُ نَصْرًا عَزِيْزًا هُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَنْزَلَ السَّكِيْنَةَ فِيْ قُلُوْبِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ لِيَزْدَادُوْٓا اِيْمَانًا مَّعَ اِيْمَانِهِمْ وَلِلّٰهِ جُنُوْدُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضِ وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلِيْمًا حَكِيْمًا لِّيُدْخِلَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰتِ جَنّٰتٍ تَجْرِيْ مِنْ تَحْتِهَا الْاَنْهٰرُ خٰلِدِيْنَ فِيْهَا وَيُكَفِّرَ عَنْهُمْ سَيِّاٰتِهِمْ وَكَانَ ذٰلِكَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ فَوْزًا عَظِيْمًا
Tilawat • Quran 48:1–5 (5 Ayahs)

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Innaa fatahnaa laka fatham-mubeenaa. Liyaghfira lakal-laahu maa taqaddama min zambika wa maa ta'akhkhara wa yutimma ni'matahoo 'alayka wa yahdiyaka Siraatam-Mustaqeemaa. Wa yansurakal-laahu nasran 'azeezaa. Huwal-lazeee anzalas-sakeenata fee quloobil-mu'mineena liyazdaadooo eemaanam-ma'a eemaanihim; wa lillaahi junoodus-samaawaati wal-ard; wa kaanal-laahu 'Aleeman Hakeemaa. Liyudkhilal-mu'mineena wal-mu'minaati Jannaatin tajree min tahtihal-anhaaru khaalideena feehaa wa yukaffira 'anhum sayyi'aatihim; wa kaana zaalika 'indal-laahi fawzan 'azeemaa.
اردو ترجمہ: (اے نبی ﷺ!) بے شک ہم نے آپ کو ایک کھلی ہوئی فتح عطا فرمائی۔ تاکہ اللہ آپ کے اگلے اور پچھلے سب قصور معاف فرما دے اور آپ پر اپنی نعمت تمام کر دے اور آپ کو سیدھے راستے پر چلائے۔ اور اللہ آپ کو زبردست نصرت عطا فرمائے۔ وہی ہے جس نے مومنوں کے دلوں میں سکینت (اطمینان) نازل فرمائی تاکہ ان کے ایمان کے ساتھ ان کا ایمان اور بڑھ جائے، اور آسمانوں اور زمین کے سب لشکر اللہ ہی کے ہیں، اور اللہ خوب جاننے والا، حکمت والا ہے۔ تاکہ وہ مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں کو ایسے باغات میں داخل فرمائے جن کے نیچے نہریں بہتی ہیں، وہ ان میں ہمیشہ رہیں گے، اور ان سے ان کی برائیاں دور کر دے، اور یہ اللہ کے نزدیک بہت بڑی کامیابی ہے۔
English Meaning: Indeed, We have given you, [O Muhammad], a clear conquest that Allah may forgive for you what preceded of your sin and what will follow and complete His favor upon you and guide you to a straight path and [that] Allah may aid you with a mighty victory. It is He who sent down tranquility into the hearts of the believers that they would increase in faith along with their [present] faith. And to Allah belong the soldiers of the heavens and the earth, and ever is Allah Knowing and Wise. [And] that He may admit the believing men and the believing women to gardens beneath which rivers flow to abide therein eternally and remove from them their misdeeds—and ever is that, in the sight of Allah, a great attainment.

Surah Al-Fath Verses 8–10 — Honoring the Prophet ﷺ & Bay'at With Allah
سورۃ الفتح (آیت ۸ تا ۱۰) — شانِ رسالت ﷺ اور بیعتِ رضوان✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۹ میں ایمان کے ساتھ رسول اللہ ﷺ کی نصرت و تعظیم اور صبح و شام اللہ کی تسبیح کا حکم دیا گیا ہے۔
اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنٰكَ شَاهِدًا وَّمُبَشِّرًا وَّنَذِيْرًا لِّتُؤْمِنُوْا بِاللّٰهِ وَرَسُوْلِهٖ وَتُعَزِّرُوْهُ وَتُوَقِّرُوْهُ وَتُسَبِّحُوْهُ بُكْرَةً وَّاَصِيْلًا اِنَّ الَّذِيْنَ يُبَايِعُوْنَكَ اِنَّمَا يُبَايِعُوْنَ اللّٰهَ يَدُ اللّٰهِ فَوْقَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ فَمَنْ نَّكَثَ فَاِنَّمَا يَنْكُثُ عَلٰى نَفْسِهٖ وَمَنْ اَوْفٰى بِمَا عٰهَدَ عَلَيْهُ اللّٰهَ فَسَيُؤْتِيْهِ اَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Innaaa arsalnaaka shaahidaw-wa mubashshiraw-wa nazeeraa. Litu'minoo billaahi wa Rasoolihee wa tu'azziroohu wa tuwaqqiroohu wa tusabbihoohu bukrataw-wa aseelaa. Innal-lazeena yubaayi'oonaka innamaa yubaayi'oonal-laah; Yadul-laahi fawqa aydeehim; faman nakasa fa-innamaa yankusu 'alaa nafsihee wa man awfaa bimaa 'aahada 'alayhul-laaha fasayu'teehi ajran 'azeemaa.
اردو ترجمہ: بے شک ہم نے آپ کو گواہ اور خوشخبری دینے والا اور ڈر سنانے والا بنا کر بھیجا ہے۔ تاکہ (اے لوگو!) تم اللہ اور اس کے رسول پر ایمان لاؤ اور رسول کی مدد کرو اور ان کی تعظیم و توقیر کرو اور صبح و شام اللہ کی تسبیح بیان کرو۔ (اے نبی ﷺ!) جو لوگ آپ سے بیعت کرتے ہیں وہ دراصل اللہ ہی سے بیعت کرتے ہیں، ان کے ہاتھوں کے اوپر اللہ کا دستِ قدرت ہے، پس جو کوئی عہد توڑتا ہے تو اس کے عہد توڑنے کا وبال اسی کی جان پر ہے، اور جو اس عہد کو پورا کرے جو اس نے اللہ سے کیا ہے تو اللہ عنقریب اسے بہت بڑا اجر عطا فرمائے گا۔
English Meaning: Indeed, We have sent you as a witness and a bringer of good tidings and a warner that you [people] may believe in Allah and His Messenger and honor him and respect the Prophet and exalt Allah morning and afternoon. Indeed, those who pledge allegiance to you, [O Muhammad]—they are actually pledging allegiance to Allah. The hand of Allah is over their hands. So he who breaks his word only breaks it to the detriment of himself. And he who fulfills that which he has promised Allah—He will give him a great reward.

📌 Passage 3 · Quran 48:18–21 · Bay'at ar-Ridwan & Near Victory
Surah Al-Fath Verses 18–21 — "Laqad Radiyallahu 'anil-Mu'minin" (Allah's Pleasure)
سورۃ الفتح (آیت ۱۸ تا ۲۱) — بیعتِ شجرہ پر اللہ کی رضا اور فتحِ قریب✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۱۸ ("فَعَلِمَ مَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَاَنْزَلَ السَّكِيْنَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ") بتاتی ہے کہ جب بندے کے دل میں سچائی اور اخلاص ہوتا ہے تو اللہ تعالیٰ غیب سے سکون اور کشادگی کے دروازے کھول دیتا ہے۔
لَقَدْ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ اِذْ يُبَايِعُوْنَكَ تَحْتَ الشَّجَرَةِ فَعَلِمَ مَا فِيْ قُلُوْبِهِمْ فَاَنْزَلَ السَّكِيْنَةَ عَلَيْهِمْ وَاَثَابَهُمْ فَتْحًا قَرِيْبًا وَّمَغَانِمَ كَثِيْرَةً يَّأْخُذُوْنَهَا وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَزِيْزًا حَكِيْمًا وَعَدَكُمُ اللّٰهُ مَغَانِمَ كَثِيْرَةً تَأْخُذُوْنَهَا فَعَجَّلَ لَكُمْ هٰذِهٖ وَكَفَّ اَيْدِيَ النَّاسِ عَنْكُمْ وَلِتَكُوْنَ اٰيَةً لِّلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَيَهْدِيَكُمْ صِرَاطًا مُّسْتَقِيْمًا وَاُخْرٰى لَمْ تَقْدِرُوْا عَلَيْهَا قَدْ اَحَاطَ اللّٰهُ بِهَا وَكَانَ اللّٰهُ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيْرًا

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Laqad radiyal-laahu 'anil-mu'mineena iz yubaayi'oonaka tahtash-shajarati fa'alima maa fee quloobihim fa-anzalas-sakeenata 'alayhim wa asaabahum fathan qareebaa. Wa maghaanima kaseeratay-ya'khuzoonahaa; wa kaanal-laahu 'Azeezan Hakeemaa. Wa'adakumul-laahu maghaanima kaseeratan ta'khuzoonahaa fa'ajjala lakum haazihee wa kaffa aydiyan-naasi 'ankum wa litakoona aayatal-lil-mu'mineena wa yahdiyakum Siraatam-Mustaqeemaa. Wa ukhraa lam taqdiroo 'alayhaa qad ahaatal-laahu bihaa; wa kaanal-laahu 'alaa kulli shay'in Qadeeraa.
اردو ترجمہ: بے شک اللہ مومنوں سے راضی ہو گیا جب وہ (حدیبیہ میں) درخت کے نیچے آپ سے بیعت کر رہے تھے، پس جو اخلاص ان کے دلوں میں تھا اللہ نے اسے جان لیا، تو ان پر سکینت نازل فرمائی اور انہیں انعام میں ایک قریبی فتح (خیبر) عطا فرمائی۔ اور بہت سے اموالِ غنیمت جو وہ حاصل کریں گے، اور اللہ غالب، حکمت والا ہے۔ اللہ نے تم سے بہت سی غنیمتوں کا وعدہ فرمایا ہے جو تم حاصل کرو گے، پس یہ (فتح) تو تمہیں جلدی عطا فرما دی اور لوگوں کے ہاتھ تم سے روک دیے، تاکہ یہ مومنوں کے لیے ایک نشانی ہو اور وہ تمہیں سیدھے راستے پر چلائے۔ اور ایک دوسری فتح بھی ہے جس پر تم ابھی قادر نہیں ہوئے، اللہ نے اسے اپنے احاطۂ قدرت میں لے رکھا ہے، اور اللہ ہر چیز پر قادر ہے۔
English Meaning: Certainly was Allah pleased with the believers when they pledged allegiance to you, [O Muhammad], under the tree, and He knew what was in their hearts, so He sent down tranquility upon them and rewarded them with an imminent conquest and much war booty which they will take. And ever is Allah Exalted in Might and Wise. Allah has promised you much booty that you will take [in the future] and has hastened for you this [victory] and withheld the hands of people from you—that it may be a sign for the believers and [that] He may guide you to a straight path. And [He promises] other [victories] that you were [so far] unable to [realize] which Allah has already encompassed. And ever is Allah, over all things, Competent.

📌 Passage 4 · Quran 48:27–29 · True Vision & "Muhammadur-Rasulullah"
Surah Al-Fath Verses 27–29 — Fulfilled Vision & Praise of the Prophet ﷺ and Sahabah
سورۃ الفتح (آیت ۲۷ تا ۲۹) — مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ اور صحابہ کرام کی عظمت✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: سورۃ الفتح کی یہ آخری آیت (آیت ۲۹) قرآن کریم کی جامع ترین آیات میں سے ہے جس میں کلمۂ رسالت "مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ" اور صحابہ کرام رضوان اللہ علیہم اجمعین کی کامل صفات بیان ہوئی ہیں۔
لَقَدْ صَدَقَ اللّٰهُ رَسُوْلَهُ الرُّءْيَا بِالْحَقِّ لَتَدْخُلُنَّ الْمَسْجِدَ الْحَرَامَ اِنْ شَآءَ اللّٰهُ اٰمِنِيْنَ مُحَلِّقِيْنَ رُءُوْسَكُمْ وَمُقَصِّرِيْنَ لَا تَخَافُوْنَ فَعَلِمَ مَا لَمْ تَعْلَمُوْا فَجَعَلَ مِنْ دُوْنِ ذٰلِكَ فَتْحًا قَرِيْبًا هُوَ الَّذِيْٓ اَرْسَلَ رَسُوْلَهٗ بِالْهُدٰى وَدِيْنِ الْحَقِّ لِيُظْهِرَهٗ عَلَى الدِّيْنِ كُلِّهٖ وَكَفٰى بِاللّٰهِ شَهِيْدًا مُحَمَّدٌ رَّسُوْلُ اللّٰهِ وَالَّذِيْنَ مَعَهٗٓ اَشِدَّآءُ عَلَى الْكُفَّارِ رُحَمَآءُ بَيْنَهُمْ تَرٰىهُمْ رُكَّعًا سُجَّدًا يَّبْتَغُوْنَ فَضْلًا مِّنَ اللّٰهِ وَرِضْوَانًا سِيْمَاهُمْ فِيْ وُجُوْهِهِمْ مِّنْ اَثَرِ السُّجُوْدِ ذٰلِكَ مَثَلُهُمْ فِي التَّوْرٰىةِ وَمَثَلُهُمْ فِي الْاِنْجِيْلِ كَزَرْعٍ اَخْرَجَ شَطْـَٔهٗ فَاٰزَرَهٗ فَاسْتَغْلَظَ فَاسْتَوٰى عَلٰى سُوْقِهٖ يُعْجِبُ الزُّرَّاعَ لِيَغِيْظَ بِهِمُ الْكُفَّارَ وَعَدَ اللّٰهُ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا وَعَمِلُوا الصّٰلِحٰتِ مِنْهُمْ مَّغْفِرَةً وَّاَجْرًا عَظِيْمًا

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Laqad sadaqal-laahu Rasoolahur-ru'yaa bil-haqqi latadkhulunnal-Masjidal-Haraama in shaaa'al-laahu aamineena muhalliqeena ru'oosakum wa muqassireena laa takhaafoon; fa'alima maa lam ta'lamoo faja'ala min dooni zaalika fathan qareebaa. Huwal-lazeee arsala Rasoolahoo bil-hudaa wa deenil-haqqi liyuzhirahoo 'alad-deeni kullihee wa kafaa billaahi Shaheedaa. Muhammadur-Rasoolul-laah; wallazeena ma'ahooo ashiddaaa'u 'alal-kuffaari ruhamaaa'u baynahum taraahum rukka'an sujjaday-yabtaghoona fadlam-minal-laahi wa ridwaanaa; seemaahum fee wujoohihim min asaris-sujood; zaalika masaluhum fit-Tawraati wa masaluhum fil-Injeeli kazar'in akhraja shat'ahoo fa-aazarahoo fastaghlaza fastawaa 'alaa sooqihee yu'jibuz-zurraa'a liyagheeza bihimul-kuffaar; wa'adal-laahul-lazeena aamanoo wa 'amilus-saalihaati minhum maghfirataw-wa ajran 'azeemaa.
اردو ترجمہ: بے شک اللہ نے اپنے رسول کو سچا خواب حق کے ساتھ دکھایا کہ اگر اللہ نے چاہا تو تم ضرور مسجدِ حرام میں امن کے ساتھ داخل ہو گے، اپنے سر منڈواتے ہوئے اور بال ترشواتے ہوئے، تمہیں کوئی خوف نہ ہوگا، پس جو بات تم نہیں جانتے تھے وہ اللہ جانتا تھا، اس لیے اس نے اس (فتحِ مکہ) سے پہلے ایک قریبی فتح عطا فرما دی۔ وہی ہے جس نے اپنے رسول کو ہدایت اور دینِ حق کے ساتھ بھیجا تاکہ اسے ہر دین پر غالب کر دے، اور گواہی دینے کے لیے اللہ ہی کافی ہے۔ محمد (ﷺ) اللہ کے رسول ہیں، اور جو لوگ آپ کے ساتھ ہیں وہ کافروں پر سخت ہیں اور آپس میں بے حد رحم دل ہیں، آپ انہیں رکوع کرتے ہوئے اور سجدہ کرتے ہوئے دیکھیں گے، وہ اللہ کا فضل اور اس کی خوشنودی تلاش کرتے ہیں، ان کی نشانی ان کے چہروں پر سجدوں کے اثر سے نمایاں ہے، یہ ان کی مثال تورات میں ہے، اور انجیل میں ان کی مثال اس کھیتی کی سی ہے جس نے اپنی کونپل نکالی، پھر اسے مضبوط کیا، پھر وہ موٹی ہوئی، پھر اپنے تنے پر سیدھی کھڑی ہو گئی کہ کاشتکاروں کو بھلی لگتی ہے تاکہ ان کے ذریعے کافروں کے دل جلائے، ان میں سے جو لوگ ایمان لائے اور نیک عمل کیے اللہ نے ان سے مغفرت اور بہت بڑے اجر کا وعدہ فرمایا ہے۔
English Meaning: Certainly has Allah showed to His Messenger the vision in truth. You will surely enter al-Masjid al-Haram, if Allah wills, in safety, with your heads shaved and [hair] shortened, not fearing [anyone]. He knew what you did not know and has arranged before that a conquest near [at hand]. It is He who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth to manifest it over all religion. And sufficient is Allah as Witness. Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah; and those with him are forceful against the disbelievers, merciful among themselves. You see them bowing and prostrating [in prayer], seeking bounty from Allah and [His] pleasure. Their mark is on their faces from the trace of prostration. That is their description in the Torah. And their description in the Gospel is as a plant which produces its offshoots and strengthens them so they grow firm and stand upon their stalks, delighting the sowers—so that Allah may enrage by them the disbelievers. Allah has promised those who believe and do righteous deeds among them forgiveness and a great reward.
