Authentic Hadith Verification on the Virtues (Fazilat) of Surah Yaseen
سورۃ یٰسین کی فضیلت سے متعلق احادیث کی مستند علمی تحقیقThe famous narration "Everything has a heart, and the heart of the Quran is Yaseen" (Jami at-Tirmidhi 2887) and "Recite Yaseen over your dying" (Sunan Abu Dawud 3121) were graded weak (Da'if) in chain by Imam Tirmidhi, Imam Daraqutni, and modern hadith scholars, though Imam Ibn Kathir noted in his Tafsir of Surah Yaseen that scholars observed from experience that reciting Surah Yaseen in difficult matters brings ease from Allah because it is the Speech of Allah.

Why Surah Yaseen Transforms the Believer's Heart
سورۃ یٰسین دل کو کیوں بدل دیتی ہے؟Surah Yaseen unites the three foundational pillars of Islamic creed: Tawheed (Oneness of Allah), Risalah (Prophethood), and Akhirah (Resurrection). Reading it with Urdu translation removes despair and reminds the soul that the One who says "Kun Fayakun" (Be, and it is) has power over every impossibility.

سورۃ یٰسین (آیات ۱ تا ۱۲) — حکمت والے قرآن کی قسم اور اعمال کا لکھا جانا✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۱۲ کے نزول کا سبب صحیح مسلم (663) میں ہے کہ بنو سلمہ نے مسجدِ نبوی کے قریب منتقل ہونے کا ارادہ کیا تو نبی ﷺ نے فرمایا کہ تمہارے ہر قدم کے نشانات لکھے جاتے ہیں۔
يٰسٓ وَالْقُرْاٰنِ الْحَكِيْمِ اِنَّكَ لَمِنَ الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ تَنْزِيْلَ الْعَزِيْزِ الرَّحِيْمِ لِتُنْذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّا اُنْذِرَ اٰبَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غٰفِلُوْنَ لَقَدْ حَقَّ الْقَوْلُ عَلٰى اَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِيْ اَعْنَاقِهِمْ اَغْلٰلًا فَهِىَ اِلَى الْاَذْقَانِ فَهُمْ مُّقْمَحُوْنَ وَجَعَلْنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ اَيْدِيْهِمْ سَدًّا وَّمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَاَغْشَيْنٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُوْنَ وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَاَنْذَرْتَهُمْ اَمْ لَمْ تُنْذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُوْنَ اِنَّمَا تُنْذِرُ مَنِ اتَّبَعَ الذِّكْرَ وَخَشِيَ الرَّحْمٰنَ بِالْغَيْبِ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَّاَجْرٍ كَرِيْمٍ اِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْيِ الْمَوْتٰى وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوْا وَاٰثَارَهُمْ وَكُلَّ شَيْءٍ اَحْصَيْنٰهُ فِيْٓ اِمَامٍ مُّّبِيْنٍ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Yaa-Seeen. Wal-Qur'aanil-Hakeem. Innaka laminal-mursaleen. 'Alaa Siraatim-Mustaqeem. Tanzeelal-'Azeezir-Raheem. Litunzira qawmam-maa unzira aabaa'uhum fahum ghaafiloon. Laqad haqqal-qawlu 'alaa aksarihim fahum laa yu'minoon. Innaa ja'alnaa feee a'naaqihim aghlaalan fahiya ilal-azqaani fahum muqmahoon. Wa ja'alnaa mim-bayni aydeehim saddaw-wa min khalfihim saddan fa-aghshaynaahum fahum laa yubsiroon. Wa sawaaa'un 'alayhim a-anzartahum am lam tunzirhum laa yu'minoon. Innamaa tunziru manit-taba'az-Zikra wa khashiyar-Rahmaana bil-ghaybi fabashshirhu bimaghfiratiw-wa ajrin kareem. Innaa Nahnu nuhyil-mawtaa wa naktubu maa qaddamoo wa aasaarahum; wa kulla shay'in ahsaynaahu feee Imaamim-Mubeen.
اردو ترجمہ: یٰسین۔ حکمت والے قرآن کی قسم۔ بے شک آپ رسولوں میں سے ہیں۔ سیدھے راستے پر ہیں۔ یہ غالب، نہایت رحم والے کا نازل کردہ ہے۔ تاکہ آپ ایسی قوم کو ڈرائیں جن کے باپ دادا کو نہیں ڈرایا گیا، سو وہ غافل ہیں۔ بے شک ان میں سے اکثر پر بات ثابت ہو چکی ہے پس وہ ایمان نہیں لائیں گے۔ بے شک ہم نے ان کی گردنوں میں طوق ڈال دیے ہیں جو ٹھوڑیوں تک ہیں، پس ان کے سر اوپر کو اٹھے ہوئے ہیں۔ اور ہم نے ان کے آگے ایک دیوار بنا دی اور ان کے پیچھے ایک دیوار بنا دی، پھر ہم نے انہیں ڈھانپ دیا تو وہ دیکھ نہیں سکتے۔ اور ان کے حق میں برابر ہے خواہ آپ انہیں ڈرائیں یا نہ ڈرائیں، وہ ایمان نہیں لائیں گے۔ آپ تو صرف اسی کو نصیحت کر سکتے ہیں جو نصیحت (قرآن) کی پیروی کرے اور بن دیکھے رحمٰن سے ڈرے، پس اسے بخشش اور عزت والے اجر کی خوشخبری سنا دیجئے۔ بے شک ہم ہی مردوں کو زندہ کریں گے اور ہم لکھتے جا رہے ہیں جو اعمال انہوں نے آگے بھیجے اور جو نشانات وہ پیچھے چھوڑ گئے، اور ہر چیز کو ہم نے ایک واضح کتاب (لوحِ محفوظ) میں شمار کر رکھا ہے۔
English Meaning: Ya-Sin. By the wise Qur'an. Indeed you, [O Muhammad], are from among the messengers, on a straight path. [This is] a revelation of the Exalted in Might, the Merciful, that you may warn a people whose forefathers were not warned, so they are unaware. Already the word has come into effect upon most of them, so they do not believe. Indeed, We have put shackles on their necks, and they are to their chins, so their heads are kept aloft. And We have put before them a barrier and behind them a barrier and covered them, so they do not see. And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them—they will not believe. You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen; so give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward. Indeed, it is We who bring the dead to life and record what they have put forth and what they left behind, and all things We have enumerated in a clear register.

سورۃ یٰسین (آیات ۲۰ تا ۲۷) — مردِ مومن کی نصیحت اور جنت کا انعام✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۲۳ خالص توحید کی دلیل ہے کہ نفع و نقصان صرف رحمٰن کے ہاتھ میں ہے اور اس کے سوا کوئی مشکل کشا نہیں۔
وَجَآءَ مِنْ اَقْصَا الْمَدِيْنَةِ رَجُلٌ يَّسْعٰى قَالَ يٰقَوْمِ اتَّبِعُوا الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ اتَّبِعُوْا مَنْ لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ اَجْرًا وَّهُمْ مُّهْتَدُوْنَ وَمَا لِيَ لَآ اَعْبُدُ الَّذِيْ فَطَرَنِيْ وَاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ ءَاَتَّخِذُ مِنْ دُوْنِهٖٓ اٰلِهَةً اِنْ يُّرِدْنِ الرَّحْمٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّيْ شَفَاعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَّلَا يُنْقِذُوْنِ اِنِّيْٓ اِذًا لَّفِيْ ضَلٰلٍ مُّبِيْنٍ اِنِّيْٓ اٰمَنْتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَاسْمَعُوْنِ قِيْلَ ادْخُلِ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ يٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِيْ يَعْلَمُوْنَ بِمَا غَفَرَ لِيْ رَبِّيْ وَجَعَلَنِيْ مِنَ الْمُكْرَمِيْنَ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Wa jaaa'a min aqsal-madeenati rajuluy-yas'aa qaala yaa-qawmit-tabi'ul-mursaleen. Ittabi'oo mal-laa yas'alukum ajraw-wa hum muhtadoon. Wa maa liya laaa a'budul-lazee fataranee wa ilayhi turja'oon. A-attakhizu min dooniheee aalihatan iy-yuridnir-Rahmaanu bidurril-laa tughni 'annee shafaa'atuhum shay'aw-wa laa yunqizoon. Inneee izal-lafee dalaalim-mubeen. Inneee aamantu bi-Rabbikum fasma'oon. Qeelad-khulil-Jannah; qaala yaa-layta qawmee ya'lamoon. Bimaa ghafara lee Rabbee wa ja'alanee minal-mukrameen.
اردو ترجمہ: اور شہر کے پرلے کنارے سے ایک شخص دوڑتا ہوا آیا، اس نے کہا: اے میری قوم! رسولوں کی پیروی کرو۔ ایسے لوگوں کی پیروی کرو جو تم سے کوئی معاوضہ نہیں مانگتے اور وہ راہِ راست پر ہیں۔ اور مجھے کیا ہے کہ میں اس ذات کی عبادت نہ کروں جس نے مجھے پیدا کیا اور تم سب کو اسی کی طرف لوٹ کر جانا ہے؟ کیا میں اس کے سوا ایسے معبود بنا لوں کہ اگر رحمٰن مجھے کوئی تکلیف پہنچانا چاہے تو نہ ان کی سفارش میرے کچھ کام آ سکے اور نہ وہ مجھے بچا سکیں؟ ایسی صورت میں تو میں یقیناً کھلی گمراہی میں ہوں گا۔ بے شک میں تمہارے رب پر ایمان لایا، سو میری بات سن لو۔ (شہادت کے بعد) اس سے کہا گیا کہ جنت میں داخل ہو جاؤ۔ اس نے کہا: کاش میری قوم کو معلوم ہو جاتا کہ میرے رب نے مجھے کس طرح بخش دیا اور مجھے عزت والوں میں شامل فرما دیا۔
English Meaning: And there came from the farthest end of the city a man, running. He said, "O my people, follow the messengers. Follow those who do not ask of you [any] payment, and they are [rightly] guided. And why should I not worship He who created me and to whom you will be returned? Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me? Indeed, I would then be in manifest error. Indeed, I have believed in your Lord, so listen to me." It was said, "Enter Paradise." He said, "I wish my people could know of how my Lord has forgiven me and placed me among the honored."

سورۃ یٰسین (آیات ۳۳ تا ۴۰) — مردہ زمین کا زندہ ہونا اور سورج و چاند کا نظام✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: صحیح بخاری (3199) میں حضرت ابو ذر رضی اللہ عنہ سے روایت ہے کہ نبی کریم ﷺ نے آیت "وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِيْ لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا" کی تفسیر میں فرمایا کہ سورج کا مستقر عرش کے نیچے ہے جہاں وہ ہر روز سجدہ کر کے طلوع ہونے کی اجازت مانگتا ہے۔
وَاٰيَةٌ لَّهُمُ الْاَرْضُ الْمَيْتَةُ اَحْيَيْنٰهَا وَاَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُوْنَ وَجَعَلْنَا فِيْهَا جَنّٰتٍ مِّنْ نَّخِيْلٍ وَّاَعْنَابٍ وَّفَجَّرْنَا فِيْهَا مِنَ الْعُيُوْنِ لِيَأْكُلُوْا مِنْ ثَمَرِهٖ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ اَيْدِيْهِمْ اَفَلَا يَشْكُرُوْنَ سُبْحٰنَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ الْاَزْوَاجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنْبِتُ الْاَرْضُ وَمِنْ اَنْفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُوْنَ وَاٰيَةٌ لَّهُمُ الَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ النَّهَارَ فَاِذَا هُمْ مُّظْلِمُوْنَ وَالشَّمْسُ تَجْرِيْ لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ذٰلِكَ تَقْدِيْرُ الْعَزِيْزِ الْعَلِيْمِ وَالْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتّٰى عَادَ كَالْعُرْجُوْنِ الْقَدِيْمِ لَا الشَّمْسُ يَنْبَغِيْ لَهَآ اَنْ تُدْرِكَ الْقَمَرَ وَلَا الَّيْلُ سَابِقُ النَّهَارِ وَكُلٌّ فِيْ فَلَكٍ يَّسْبَحُوْنَ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Wa Aayatul-lahumul-ardul-maytatu ahyaynaahaa wa akhrajnaa minhaa habban faminhu ya'kuloon. Wa ja'alnaa feehaa jannaatim-min nakheeliw-wa a'naabiw-wa fajjarnaa feehaa minal-'uyoon. Liya'kuloo min samarihee wa maa 'amilat-hu aydeehim afalaa yashkuroon. Subhaanal-lazee khalaqal-azwaaja kullahaa mimmaa tumbitul-ardu wa min anfusihim wa mimmaa laa ya'lamoon. Wa Aayatul-lahumul-laylu naslakhu minhun-nahaara fa-izaa hum muzlimoon. Wash-shamsu tajree limustaqarril-lahaa; zaalika taqdeerul-'Azeezil-'Aleem. Wal-qamara qaddarnaahu manaazila hattaa 'aada kal-'urjoonil-qadeem. Lash-shamsu yambaghee lahaaa an tudrikal-qamara wa lal-laylu saabiqun-nahaar; wa kullun fee falakiy-yasbahoon.
اردو ترجمہ: اور ان کے لیے ایک نشانی مردہ زمین ہے جسے ہم نے زندہ کیا اور اس میں سے اناج نکالا جس میں سے وہ کھاتے ہیں۔ اور ہم نے اس میں کھجوروں اور انگوروں کے باغات بنائے اور اس میں چشمے جاری کر دیے۔ تاکہ وہ اس کے پھل کھائیں، اور یہ سب ان کے ہاتھوں کا بنایا ہوا نہیں ہے، تو کیا وہ شکر ادا نہیں کرتے؟ پاک ہے وہ ذات جس نے ہر چیز کے جوڑے پیدا کیے، ان چیزوں میں سے بھی جنہیں زمین اگاتی ہے، خود ان کے اپنے نفوس میں سے بھی اور ان چیزوں میں سے بھی جنہیں وہ نہیں جانتے۔ اور ان کے لیے ایک نشانی رات ہے جس کے اوپر سے ہم دن کو کھینچ لیتے ہیں تو وہ یکایک اندھیرے میں رہ جاتے ہیں۔ اور سورج اپنے مقررہ ٹھکانے کی طرف چلتا جا رہا ہے، یہ غالب، علم والے (اللہ) کا باندھا ہوا اندازہ ہے۔ اور چاند کے لیے ہم نے منزلیں مقرر کر دی ہیں یہاں تک کہ وہ لوٹ کر کھجور کی پرانی سوکھے ٹہنی کی طرح ہو جاتا ہے۔ نہ سورج کی یہ مجال ہے کہ چاند کو جا پکڑے اور نہ رات دن سے پہلے آ سکتی ہے، اور سب ایک ایک مدار میں تیر رہے ہیں۔
English Meaning: And a sign for them is the dead earth. We have brought it to life and brought forth from it grain, and from it they eat. And We placed therein gardens of palm trees and grapevines and caused to burst forth therefrom some springs—that they may eat of His fruit. And their hands have not produced it, so will they not be grateful? Exalted is He who created all pairs—from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know. And a sign for them is the night. We remove from it [the light of] day, so they are [left] in darkness. And the sun runs [on course] toward its stopping point. That is the determination of the Exalted in Might, the Knowing. And the moon—We have determined for it phases, until it returns [appearing] like the old date stalk. It is not allowable for the sun to reach the moon, nor does the night overtake the day, but each, in an orbit, is swimming.

سورۃ یٰسین (آیات ۵۵ تا ۵۸) — جنتیوں پر ربِ رحیم کی طرف سے سلام✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: جنت کی سب سے بڑی نعمت یہ ہوگی کہ خود ربِ رحیم کی طرف سے اہلِ جنت کو براہِ راست سلام کہا جائے گا۔
اِنَّ اَصْحٰبَ الْجَنَّةِ الْيَوْمَ فِيْ شُغُلٍ فٰكِهُوْنَ هُمْ وَاَزْوَاجُهُمْ فِيْ ظِلٰلٍ عَلَى الْاَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔوْنَ لَهُمْ فِيْهَا فَاكِهَةٌ وَّلَهُمْ مَّا يَدَّعُوْنَ سَلٰمٌ قَوْلًا مِّنْ رَّبٍّ رَّحِيْمٍ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Inna Ashaabal-Jannatil-yawma fee shughulin faakihoon. Hum wa azwaajuhum fee zilaalin 'alal-araaa'iki muttaki'oon. Lahum feehaa faakihatuw-wa lahum maa yadda'oon. Salaamun qawlam-mir-Rabbir-Raheem.
اردو ترجمہ: بے شک جنت والے آج کے دن نعمتوں کی مشغولی میں خوش و خرم ہوں گے۔ وہ اور ان کی بیویاں گھنے سایوں میں مسندوں پر تکیہ لگائے بیٹھے ہوں گے۔ ان کے لیے وہاں ہر قسم کے میوے ہوں گے اور ان کے لیے وہ سب کچھ ہوگا جو وہ مانگیں گے۔ نہایت مہربان رب کی طرف سے ان پر "سلام" کا پیغام ہوگا۔
English Meaning: Indeed the companions of Paradise, that Day, will be amused in [joyful] occupation—they and their spouses—in shade, reclining on adorned couches. For them therein is fruit, and for them is whatever they request [or wish], [and] "Peace," a word from a Merciful Lord.

سورۃ یٰسین کی آخری آیات (۷۷ تا ۸۳) — "کُنْ فَیَکُوْنُ" اور اللہ کی کامل قدرت✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: سورۃ یٰسین کی یہ آخری آیات ہر قسم کی مایوسی کو ختم کر دیتی ہیں کہ جس رب کے ہاتھ میں ہر چیز کی ملکوت ہے، اس کے ایک حکم "کُنْ" سے ناممکن بھی ممکن ہو جاتا ہے۔
اَوَلَمْ يَرَ الْاِنْسَانُ اَنَّا خَلَقْنٰهُ مِنْ نُّطْفَةٍ فَاِذَا هُوَ خَصِيْمٌ مُّبِيْنٌ وَضَرَبَ لَنَا مَثَلًا وَّنَسِيَ خَلْقَهٗ قَالَ مَنْ يُّحْيِ الْعِظَامَ وَهِيَ رَمِيْمٌ قُلْ يُحْيِيْهَا الَّذِيْٓ اَنْشَاَهَآ اَوَّلَ مَرَّةٍ وَهُوَ بِكُلِّ خَلْقٍ عَلِيْمٌ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ لَكُمْ مِّنَ الشَّجَرِ الْاَخْضَرِ نَارًا فَاِذَآ اَنْتُمْ مِّنْهُ تُوْقِدُوْنَ اَوَلَيْسَ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ بِقٰدِرٍ عَلٰٓى اَنْ يَّخْلُقَ مِثْلَهُمْ بَلٰى وَهُوَ الْخَلّٰقُ الْعَلِيْمُ اِنَّمَآ اَمْرُهٗٓ اِذَآ اَرَادَ شَيْـًٔا اَنْ يَّقُوْلَ لَهٗ كُنْ فَيَكُوْنُ فَسُبْحٰنَ الَّذِيْ بِيَدِهٖ مَلَكُوْتُ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ وَّاِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُوْنَ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Awalam yaral-insaanu annaa khalaqnaahu min nutfatin fa-izaa huwa khaseemum-mubeen. Wa daraba lanaa masalaw-wa nasiya khalqahoo qaala may-yuhyil-'izaama wa hiya rameem. Qul yuhyeehal-lazeee ansha-ahaaa awwala marratiw-wa Huwa bikulli khalqin 'Aleem. Allazee ja'ala lakum-minash-shajaril-akhdari naaran fa-izaaa antum minhu tooqidoon. Awalaysal-lazee khalaqas-samaawaati wal-arda biqaadirin 'alaaa ay-yakhluqa mislahum; balaa wa Huwal-Khallaaqul-'Aleem. Innamaaa amruhooo izaaa araada shay'an ay-yaqoola lahoo Kun Fayakoon. Fasubhaanal-lazee biyadihee malakootu kulli shay'iw-wa ilayhi turja'oon.
اردو ترجمہ: کیا انسان نے نہیں دیکھا کہ ہم نے اسے ایک بوند سے پیدا کیا، پھر وہ یکایک کھلا جھگڑالو بن گیا۔ اور اس نے ہمارے لیے ایک مثال بیان کی اور اپنی پیدائش کو بھول گیا، کہنے لگا: ان ہڈیوں کو کون زندہ کرے گا جب کہ یہ بوسیدہ ہو چکی ہوں گی؟ فرما دیجئے: انہیں وہی زندہ کرے گا جس نے انہیں پہلی بار پیدا کیا تھا اور وہ ہر قسم کی تخلیق کو خوب جاننے والا ہے۔ جس نے تمہارے لیے سرسبز درخت سے آگ پیدا کر دی، سو تم اسی سے آگ سلگاتے ہو۔ کیا جس نے آسمانوں اور زمین کو پیدا کیا وہ اس بات پر قادر نہیں کہ ان جیسے دوبارہ پیدا کر دے؟ کیوں نہیں! اور وہی تو بڑا پیدا کرنے والا، سب کچھ جاننے والا ہے۔ اس کی شان تو یہ ہے کہ جب وہ کسی چیز کا ارادہ فرماتا ہے تو اسے اتنا ہی کہتا ہے کہ "ہو جا"، پس وہ ہو جاتی ہے۔ سو پاک ہے وہ ذات جس کے ہاتھ میں ہر چیز کی بادشاہی ہے اور اسی کی طرف تم سب لوٹائے جاؤ گے۔
English Meaning: Does man not consider that We created him from a [mere] sperm-drop—then at once he is a clear adversary? And he presents for Us an example and forgets his [own] creation. He says, "Who will give life to bones while they are disintegrated?" Say, "He will give them life who produced them the first time; and He is, of all creation, Knowing—[He] who made for you from the green tree, fire, and then from it you ignite. Is not He who created the heavens and the earth Able to create the likes of them? Yes, [it is so]; and He is the Knowing Creator. His command is only when He intends a thing that He says to it, 'Be,' and it is." So exalted is He in whose hand is the realm of all things, and to Him you will be returned.
