Shan-e-Nuzool: The Wounded Companions at Hamra' al-Asad After Uhud

شانِ نزول: غزوۂ احد کے بعد حمراء الاسد کا ایمان افروز واقعہ

In Shawwal 3 AH, immediately after the Battle of Uhud when the Companions were exhausted and heavily wounded, Abu Sufyan's army considered turning back to attack Madinah. They sent word via riders to frighten the Muslims: "The people have gathered a massive force against you, so fear them!" Instead of panicking, the wounded Companions' faith soared and they replied with one voice: "Hasbunallahu wa Ni'mal-Wakeel!" Allah cast terror into the enemy's camp so they retreated, and the Muslims returned to Madinah with profitable trade from the fair at Hamra' al-Asad without a single scratch (Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:172–174).

شوال ۳ ہجری میں غزوۂ احد کے فوراً بعد جب صحابہ کرامؓ زخموں سے چور تھے، ابو سفیان کے لشکر نے مدینہ منورہ پر دوبارہ حملہ کرنے کا ارادہ کیا اور قافلے والوں کے ذریعے مسلمانوں کو ڈرایا کہ "لوگوں نے تمہارے مقابلے کے لیے بڑا لشکر جمع کر لیا ہے، ان سے ڈرو!" لیکن اس دھمکی نے صحابہ کرامؓ کو خوفزدہ کرنے کے بجائے ان کے ایمان کو اور بڑھا دیا اور وہ پکار اٹھے: "حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ!"۔ نتیجہ یہ نکلا کہ اللہ نے دشمن کے دل میں ہیبت ڈال دی، وہ بھاگ کھڑے ہوئے، اور مسلمان حمراء الاسد کے تجارتی میلے سے مالِ تجارت کا نفع، سلامتی اور اللہ کی خوشنودی لے کر مدینہ واپس لوٹے۔

✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: امام بخاریؒ نے اس حدیث کو اپنی صحیح میں نقل کر کے واضح کیا کہ ہر بڑی مصیبت میں انبیاء کرام علیہم السلام کا سب سے بڑا ہتھیار یہی کلمہ تھا۔

الَّذِيْنَ قَالَ لَهُمُ النَّاسُ إِنَّ النَّاسَ قَدْ جَمَعُوا لَكُمْ فَاخْشَوْهُمْ فَزَادَهُمْ إِيْمَانًا وَقَالُوا حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيْلُ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Alladheena qaala lahumun-naasu innan-naasa qad jama'oo lakum fakhshawhum fazaadahum eemaanan wa qaaloo Hasbunallaahu wa Ni'mal-Wakeel.

اردو ترجمہ: ترجمہ و تفسیر: "وہ لوگ جن سے لوگوں نے کہا کہ مخالفین نے تمہارے مقابلے کے لیے بڑا لشکر جمع کر لیا ہے سو ان سے ڈرو، تو اس بات نے ان کے ایمان کو اور بڑھا دیا اور انہوں نے کہا: ہمارے لیے اللہ ہی کافی ہے اور وہ بہترین کارساز ہے۔" تشریح: صحیح بخاری (4563) میں حضرت عبداللہ بن عباس رضی اللہ عنہما فرماتے ہیں: "حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ وہ کلمہ ہے جسے ابراہیم علیہ السلام نے اس وقت کہا جب انہیں آگ میں ڈالا گیا، اور محمد ﷺ نے اس وقت کہا جب لوگوں نے کہا کہ دشمنوں نے تمہارے خلاف لشکر جمع کر لیا ہے سو ان سے ڈرو۔" مفسرین لکھتے ہیں کہ منافق یا کمزور ایمان والا جب خطرے کی خبر سنتا ہے تو اس کے ہاتھ پاؤں پھول جاتے ہیں، لیکن سچے مومن کو جب ظاہری اسباب ٹوٹتے نظر آتے ہیں تو اس کا رشتہ مسبب الاسباب (اللہ) سے اور مضبوط ہو جاتا ہے ("فَزَادَهُمْ إِيمَانًا")۔

English Meaning: Translation & Tafseer: "Those to whom people said, 'Indeed, the people have gathered against you, so fear them.' But it merely increased them in faith, and they said: 'Sufficient for us is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of affairs.'" Commentary: In Sahih al-Bukhari (4563), Ibn Abbas (RA) explained: "'Hasbunallahu wa Ni'mal-Wakeel' was said by Ibrahim (AS) when he was thrown into the fire, and it was said by Muhammad ﷺ when they said: 'Indeed the people have gathered against you, so fear them.'" When worldly threats mount, a true believer's reliance shifts completely from limited material means to the Unlimited Creator.

Tafseer of Surah Aal-e-Imran 3:174: The 4 Divine Rewards Granted to Those Who Say "Hasbunallahu Wa Ni'mal Wakeel"

سورۃ آلِ عمران ۱۷۴ کی تفسیر: "حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ" کہنے والوں کو ملنے والے ۴ الٰہی انعامات

✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: یہ آیت بتاتی ہے کہ توکل کرنے والا کبھی خالی ہاتھ نہیں لوٹتا؛ اسے حفاظت بھی ملتی ہے، رزق کا فضل بھی اور اللہ کی رضا بھی۔

فَانْقَلَبُوا بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ وَاتَّبَعُوا رِضْوَانَ اللّٰهِ ۗ وَاللّٰهُ ذُو فَضْلٍ عَظِيْمٍ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Fanqalaboo bini'matim-minallaahi wa fadlil-lam yamsas-hum soo'un wattaba'oo ridwaanallaah; wallaahu Dhoo Fadlin 'Azeem.

اردو ترجمہ: ترجمہ و تفسیر: "پس وہ اللہ کی نعمت اور فضل کے ساتھ اس حال میں لوٹے کہ انہیں کوئی برائی (تکلیف) چھو بھی نہ سکی، اور انہوں نے اللہ کی خوشنودی کی پیروی کی، اور اللہ بڑے فضل والا ہے۔" تشریح: علامہ ابنِ قیمؒ اور مفتی محمد شفیعؒ (معارف القرآن) فرماتے ہیں کہ جنہوں نے خوف کے وقت "حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ" کہا، اللہ تعالیٰ نے اگلی ہی آیت میں انہیں چار نقد انعامات عطا فرمائے: (۱) "نِعْمَةٍ مِنَ اللّٰهِ" (اللہ کی نعمت یعنی سلامتی اور امن)، (۲) "وَفَضْلٍ" (معاشی نفع اور رزق کی برکت، چنانچہ صحابہ کرامؓ نے حمراء الاسد کے بازار میں تجارت سے خوب نفع کمایا)، (۳) "لَمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ" (دشمن اور حاسدین کا کوئی وار ان کا بال بیکا نہ کر سکا)، اور (۴) "وَاتَّبَعُوا رِضْوَانَ اللّٰهِ" (سب سے بڑھ کر انہیں اللہ کی دائمی رضا نصیب ہوئی)۔

English Meaning: Translation & Tafseer: "So they returned with favor from Allah and bounty, no harm having touched them. And they pursued the pleasure of Allah, and Allah is the Possessor of great bounty." Commentary: Classical scholars point out four immediate fruits guaranteed in verse 174 for those who entrust their affair to Allah with "Hasbunallahu wa Ni'mal-Wakeel": (1) Ni'mah (safety and peace of heart), (2) Fadl (increase in sustenance and worldly benefit), (3) Protection from harm ("lam yamsas-hum soo'"), and (4) Ridwanullah (the supreme pleasure of Allah).

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Hasbiyallaahu laa ilaaha illaa Huwa 'alayhi tawakkaltu wa Huwa Rabbul-'Arshil-'Azeem. Wa ufawwidu amree ilallaahi innallaaha Baseerum-bil-'ibaad. Fawaqaahullaahu sayyi'aati maa makaroo.

اردو ترجمہ: تفسیر و مقارنہ: قرآنِ مجید میں توکل اور کفایتِ الٰہی کے تین عظیم کلمات آئے ہیں اور تینوں کے بعد اللہ کی طرف سے فوری حفاظت کا اعلان ہے: (۱) سورۃ آلِ عمران (۳:۱۷۳) میں "حَسْبُنَا اللّٰهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ" — اس کا نتیجہ نکلا: "فَانْقَلَبُوا بِنِعْمَةٍ مِنَ اللّٰهِ وَفَضْلٍ لَمْ يَمْسَسْهُمْ سُوءٌ"۔ (۲) سورۃ التوبہ کی آخری آیت (۹:۱۲۹) میں "حَسْبِيَ اللّٰهُ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا هُوَ عَلَيْهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ" — جو صبح و شام ۷ مرتبہ پڑھنے کا مسنون وظیفہ ہے جس سے اللہ دنیا و آخرت کے ہر غم کے لیے کافی ہو جاتا ہے (سنن ابی داؤد 5081)۔ (۳) سورۃ المؤمن/غافر (۴۰:۴۴–۴۵) میں مومنِ آلِ فرعون کا کلمہ: "وَأُفَوِّضُ أَمْرِي إِلَى اللّٰهِ إِنَّ اللّٰهَ بَصِيرٌ بِالْعِبَادِ" (اور میں اپنا معاملہ اللہ کے سپرد کرتا ہوں، بے شک اللہ بندوں کو خوب دیکھنے والا ہے) — جس کا نتیجہ اگلی ہی آیت میں نکلا: "فَوَقَاهُ اللّٰهُ سَيِّئَاتِ مَا مَكَرُوا" (تو اللہ نے اسے ان کے تمام مکر و فریب کی برائیوں سے بچا لیا)۔
