سورۃ المزمل کا شانِ نزول اور روحانی فوائد

In Sahih Muslim (746), Mother of the Believers 'Aishah (RA) was asked about the night prayer of the Prophet ﷺ and she replied: "Do you not read Surah Al-Muzzammil? Allah made standing in prayer at night obligatory at the beginning of this Surah, so the Prophet ﷺ and his companions stood in prayer for a whole year until their feet swelled, and after twelve months Allah revealed the easing at the end of the Surah (verse 20), so Qiyam al-Layl became voluntary after being obligatory."

صحیح مسلم (746) میں حضرت عائشہ صدیقہ رضی اللہ عنہا سے روایت ہے کہ سورۃ المزمل کی ابتدائی آیات کے نزول کے بعد نبی کریم ﷺ اور صحابہ کرام نے پورا ایک سال تہجد کا اس قدر اہتمام فرمایا کہ قدم مبارک سوج جاتے تھے، پھر بارہ ماہ بعد سورۃ المزمل کی آخری آیت (آیت ۲۰) نازل ہوئی جس میں اللہ تعالیٰ نے آسانی اور رخصت عطا فرمائی۔

سورۃ المزمل (آیت ۱ تا ۸) — قیام اللیل، ترتیلِ قرآن اور اللہ سے لو لگانا

✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۴ ("وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْاٰنَ تَرْتِيْلًا") تجوید اور ترتیل کے ساتھ قرآن پڑھنے کی بنیادی دلیل ہے، اور آیت ۸ ("وَتَبَتَّلْ اِلَيْهِ تَبْتِيْلًا") کا مطلب ہے دل کو غیر اللہ سے کاٹ کر خالص اللہ کی طرف متوجہ کر لینا۔

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Yaaa-ayyuhal-Muzzammil. Qumil-layla illaa qaleelaa. Nisfahooo awinqus minhu qaleelaa. Aw zid 'alayhi wa rattilil-Qur'aana tarteelaa. Innaa sanulqee 'alayka qawlan saqeelaa. Inna naashi'atal-layli hiya ashaddu wat'aw-wa aqwamu qeelaa. Inna laka fin-nahaari sabhan taweelaa. Wazkurisma Rabbika wa tabattal ilayhi tabteelaa.

اردو ترجمہ: اے چادر اوڑھنے والے (نبی ﷺ)! رات کو قیام کیجئے مگر تھوڑا سا حصہ۔ آدھی رات یا اس سے کچھ کم کر لیجئے۔ یا اس پر کچھ بڑھا دیجئے اور قرآن کو ٹھہر ٹھہر کر صاف پڑھیے۔ بے شک ہم عنقریب آپ پر ایک بھاری کلام نازل کرنے والے ہیں۔ بے شک رات کا اٹھنا نفس کو کچلنے کے لیے بہت مؤثر ہے اور زبان سے بات بھی زیادہ درست نکلتی ہے۔ بے شک دن میں تو آپ کے لیے بہت مصروفیات ہوتی ہیں۔ اور اپنے رب کے نام کا ذکر کیجئے اور سب سے ٹوٹ کر اسی کے ہو جائیے۔

English Meaning: O you who wraps himself [in clothing], arise [to pray] the night, except for a little—half of it—or subtract from it a little or add to it, and recite the Qur'an with measured recitation. Indeed, We will cast upon you a heavy word. Indeed, the hours of the night are more effective for concurrence [of heart and tongue] and more suitable for words. Indeed, for you by day is prolonged occupation. And remember the name of your Lord and devote yourself to Him with [complete] devotion.

سورۃ المزمل (آیت ۹ تا ۱۴) — مشرق و مغرب کا رب اور کامل توکل

✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۹ اور ۱۰ ہر اس مسلمان کے لیے عظیم تسلی ہے جو لوگوں کی مخالفت یا طعن و تشنیع کا سامنا کر رہا ہو: اللہ کو وکیل بنائیں اور بے جا الجھنے کے بجائے "ہجرِ جمیل" اختیار کریں۔

رَبُّ الْمَشْرِقِ وَالْمَغْرِبِ لَآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ فَاتَّخِذْهُ وَكِيْلًا ۝ وَاصْبِرْ عَلٰى مَا يَقُوْلُوْنَ وَاهْجُرْهُمْ هَجْرًا جَمِيْلًا ۝ وَذَرْنِيْ وَالْمُكَذِّبِيْنَ اُولِي النَّعْمَةِ وَمَهِّلْهُمْ قَلِيْلًا ۝ اِنَّ لَدَيْنَآ اَنْكَالًا وَّجَحِيْمًا ۝ وَّطَعَامًا ذَا غُصَّةٍ وَّعَذَابًا اَلِيْمًا ۝ يَوْمَ تَرْجُفُ الْاَرْضُ وَالْجِبَالُ وَكَانَتِ الْجِبَالُ كَثِيْبًا مَّهِيْلًا

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Rabbul-mashriqi wal-maghribi laaa ilaaha illaa Huwa fattakhizhu wakeelaa. Wasbir 'alaa maa yaqooloona wahjurhum hajran jameelaa. Wa zarnee wal-mukazzibeena ulin-na'mati wa mahhilhum qaleelaa. Inna ladaynaaa ankaalaw-wa jaheemaa. Wa ta'aaman zaa ghussatiw-wa 'azaaban aleemaa. Yawma tarjuful-ardu wal-jibaalu wa kaanatil-jibaalu kaseebam-maheelaa.

اردو ترجمہ: وہی مشرق اور مغرب کا رب ہے، اس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں، پس اسی کو اپنا کارساز (وکیل) بنا لیجئے۔ اور جو کچھ یہ لوگ کہتے ہیں اس پر صبر کیجئے اور ان سے خوبصورتی کے ساتھ کنارہ کشی کر لیجئے۔ اور مجھے اور ان جھٹلانے والے خوشحال لوگوں کو چھوڑ دیجئے اور انہیں تھوڑی سی مہلت دے دیجئے۔ بے شک ہمارے پاس بھاری بیڑیاں اور بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ ہے۔ اور گلے میں اٹک جانے والا کھانا اور دردناک عذاب ہے۔ جس دن زمین اور پہاڑ لرز اٹھیں گے اور پہاڑ بھربھری ریت کے ٹیلے بن جائیں گے۔

English Meaning: [He is] the Lord of the East and the West; there is no deity except Him, so take Him as Disposer of [your] affairs. And be patient over what they say and avoid them with gracious avoidance. And leave Me with [the matter of] the deniers, those of ease [in life], and allow them respite a little. Indeed, with Us [for them] are shackles and burning fire and food that chokes and a painful punishment—on the Day the earth and the mountains will convulse and the mountains will become a heap of sand pouring down.

Surah Al-Muzzammil Verses 15–19 — The Messenger as a Witness & Reminder

سورۃ المزمل (آیت ۱۵ تا ۱۹) — رسالت کی گواہی اور آخرت کی یاد دہانی

✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: آیت ۱۹ ("فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِيْلًا") انسان کو دعوت دیتی ہے کہ وہ غفلت چھوڑ کر اپنے رب کی طرف جانے والا راستہ اختیار کرے۔

اِنَّآ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلَيْكُمْ رَسُوْلًا شَاهِدًا عَلَيْكُمْ كَمَآ اَرْسَلْنَآ اِلٰى فِرْعَوْنَ رَسُوْلًا ۝ فَعَصٰى فِرْعَوْنُ الرَّسُوْلَ فَاَخَذْنٰهُ اَخْذًا وَّبِيْلًا ۝ فَكَيْفَ تَتَّقُوْنَ اِنْ كَفَرْتُمْ يَوْمًا يَّجْعَلُ الْوِلْدَانَ شِيْبًا ۝ السَّمَآءُ مُنْفَطِرٌۢ بِهٖ كَانَ وَعْدُهٗ مَفْعُوْلًا ۝ اِنَّ هٰذِهٖ تَذْكِرَةٌ فَمَنْ شَآءَ اتَّخَذَ اِلٰى رَبِّهٖ سَبِيْلًا

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Innaaa arsalnaaa ilaykum Rasoolan shaahidan 'alaykum kamaaa arsalnaaa ilaa Fir'awna Rasoolaa. Fa'asaa Fir'awnur-Rasoola fa-akhaznaahu akhzaw-wabeelaa. Fakayfa tattaqoona in kafartum Yawmay-yaj'alul-wildaana sheebaa. As-samaaa'u munfatirum-bihee kaana wa'duhoo maf'oolaa. Inna haazihee tazkiratun faman shaaa'at-takhaza ilaa Rabbihee sabeelaa.

اردو ترجمہ: بے شک ہم نے تمہاری طرف ایک رسول بھیجا ہے جو تم پر گواہ ہے، جس طرح ہم نے فرعون کی طرف ایک رسول بھیجا تھا۔ پس فرعون نے اس رسول کی نافرمانی کی تو ہم نے اسے بڑی سخت پکڑ میں پکڑ لیا۔ پھر اگر تم کفر کرتے رہے تو اس دن (کے عذاب) سے کیسے بچو گے جو بچوں کو بوڑھا کر دے گا؟ اس دن کی شدت سے آسمان پھٹ جائے گا، اللہ کا وعدہ تو پورا ہو کر ہی رہنے والا ہے۔ بے شک یہ ایک نصیحت ہے، پس جو چاہے اپنے رب کی طرف راستہ اختیار کر لے۔

English Meaning: Indeed, We have sent to you a Messenger as a witness upon you just as We sent to Pharaoh a messenger. But Pharaoh disobeyed the messenger, so We seized him with a ruinous seizure. Then how can you fear, if you disbelieve, a Day that will make the children white-haired? The heaven will break apart therefrom; ever is His promise fulfilled. Indeed, this is a reminder, so whoever wills may take to his Lord a way.

✨ تلاوت اور فضیلت: سورۃ المزمل کی اس عظیم آخری آیت میں حلال رزق کے لیے سفر کرنے والوں کا ذکر مجاہدین اور بیماروں کے ساتھ فرمایا گیا ہے، اور آخر میں نماز، زکوٰۃ، صدقہ اور استغفار کو تمام مشکلات کی کلید قرار دیا گیا ہے۔

اِنَّ رَبَّكَ يَعْلَمُ اَنَّكَ تَقُوْمُ اَدْنٰى مِنْ ثُلُثَيِ الَّيْلِ وَنِصْفَهٗ وَثُلُثَهٗ وَطَآئِفَةٌ مِّنَ الَّذِيْنَ مَعَكَ وَاللّٰهُ يُقَدِّرُ الَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ عَلِمَ اَنْ لَّنْ تُحْصُوْهُ فَتَابَ عَلَيْكُمْ فَاقْرَءُوْا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنَ الْقُرْاٰنِ عَلِمَ اَنْ سَيَكُوْنُ مِنْكُمْ مَّرْضٰى وَاٰخَرُوْنَ يَضْرِبُوْنَ فِي الْاَرْضِ يَبْتَغُوْنَ مِنْ فَضْلِ اللّٰهِ وَاٰخَرُوْنَ يُقَاتِلُوْنَ فِيْ سَبِيْلِ اللّٰهِ فَاقْرَءُوْا مَا تَيَسَّرَ مِنْهُ وَاَقِيْمُوا الصَّلٰوةَ وَاٰتُوا الزَّكٰوةَ وَاَقْرِضُوا اللّٰهَ قَرْضًا حَسَنًا وَمَا تُقَدِّمُوْا لِاَنْفُسِكُمْ مِّنْ خَيْرٍ تَجِدُوْهُ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ هُوَ خَيْرًا وَّاَعْظَمَ اَجْرًا وَاسْتَغْفِرُوا اللّٰهَ اِنَّ اللّٰهَ غَفُوْرٌ رَّحِيْمٌ

Roman Urdu / Transliteration: Inna Rabbaka ya'lamu annaka taqoomu adnaa min sulusayil-layli wa nisfahoo wa sulusahoo wa taaa'ifatum-minal-lazeena ma'ak; wallaahu yuqaddirul-layla wan-nahaar; 'alima al-lan tuhsoohu fataaba 'alaykum faqra'oo maa tayassara minal-Qur'aan; 'alima an sayakoonu minkum mardaa wa aakharoona yadriboona fil-ardi yabtaghoona min fadlil-laahi wa aakharoona yuqaatiloona fee sabeelil-laahi faqra'oo maa tayassara minhu wa aqeemus-Salaata wa aatuz-Zakaata wa aqridul-laaha qardan hasanaa; wa maa tuqaddimoo li-anfusikum min khayrin tajidoohu 'indal-laahi huwa khayraw-wa a'zama ajraa; wastaghfirul-laaha innal-laaha Ghafoorur-Raheem.

اردو ترجمہ: بے شک آپ کا رب جانتا ہے کہ آپ دو تہائی رات کے قریب اور کبھی آدھی رات اور کبھی ایک تہائی رات قیام فرماتے ہیں اور آپ کے ساتھیوں میں سے بھی ایک جماعت (قیام کرتی ہے)، اور اللہ ہی رات اور دن کا اندازہ مقرر فرماتا ہے، اس نے جان لیا کہ تم اس کا پورا احاطہ نہ کر سکو گے پس اس نے تم پر رحمت سے توجہ فرمائی، سو اب جتنا قرآن آسانی سے پڑھ سکو پڑھ لیا کرو۔ وہ جانتا ہے کہ تم میں سے کچھ بیمار بھی ہوں گے، اور کچھ دوسرے لوگ اللہ کا فضل (رزق) تلاش کرنے کے لیے زمین میں سفر کریں گے، اور کچھ لوگ اللہ کی راہ میں جہاد کریں گے، پس جتنا قرآن آسانی سے ہو سکے پڑھ لیا کرو، اور نماز قائم رکھو اور زکوٰۃ دیتے رہو اور اللہ کو قرضِ حسنہ دو، اور تم اپنے لیے جو بھلائی آگے بھیجو گے اسے اللہ کے پاس بہتر اور اجر میں بہت بڑا پاؤ گے، اور اللہ سے بخشش مانگتے رہو، بے شک اللہ بے حد بخشنے والا، نہایت رحم فرمانے والا ہے۔

English Meaning: Indeed, your Lord knows, [O Muhammad], that you stand [in prayer] almost two thirds of the night or half of it or a third of it, and [so do] a group of those with you. And Allah determines [the extent of] the night and the day. He has known that you [Muslims] will not be able to do it and has turned to you in mercy, so recite what is easy [for you] of the Qur'an. He has known that there will be among you those who are ill and others traveling throughout the land seeking [something] of the bounty of Allah and others fighting for the cause of Allah. So recite what is easy from it and establish prayer and give zakah and loan Allah a goodly loan. And whatever good you put forward for yourselves—you will find it with Allah. It is better and greater in reward. And seek forgiveness of Allah. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.
